Sarah Ruhl retells the Orpheus myth from Eurydice’s side. Newly arrived in the underworld, she meets her father, learns the language of stones, and must choose between the husband climbing down to rescue her and the memory she has only just recovered.

Director's note

Ruhl’s underworld is wet, strange, and full of feeling. We have built a world of falling water and disappearing letters where memory is the thing most worth saving. This company found the play’s humor as readily as its grief, and both belong here.
